Statue of the Lord of Rožmberk

The kneeling statue of the Lord of Rožmberk was originally a part of the Hus memorial, which was completely finished by the Pilsen-based academic sculptor Vojtěch Šíp in 1926. The Hus memorial consisted of Master Jan Hus, Jan Žižka of Trocnov, George of Poděbrady, a German crusader and the Lord of Rožmberk. This sculptural group was located at the Hus bank, now called Na Dubovci. During World War II, the statues of the nobleman, the German crusader, King George of Poděbrady and Žižka were removed and buried behind the memorial. Only the statue of Jan Hus remained.

Sculpture Portrait of Josef Režný

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Strakonice-based bagpiper Josef Režný (1924-2013) on the first day of the 21st Annual International Bagpiping festival on 21 August 2014, this slightly above-life-size sculpture was ceremonially revealed at the park behind the Castle of Strakonice. A linden tree was also symbolically planted here to honour his memory. J. Režný was known as a perpetrator of bagpiping and folk traditions, collector of folk songs, ethno-musicologist and a founder of the International Bagpipe Festival.

Dorotka-Statue

The statue of Dorotka Trnkova, bride of Švanda, is located in the Strakonické Podskalí rock bed. Dorotka is a symbol of faithful and true love. The statue was unveiled in the summer of 2012 as part of the Year of the Pipers event. The author of the sitting girl with a small wreath carved from Hořice sandstone is academic sculptor Karel Kryška. Beneath Dorotka there is a bench, on which, it is said, kissing brings a happy and satisfied love life.

František Ladislav Čelakovský in Podskalí

The monument was created by the sculptor Vojtěch Šíp from Pilsen.A bust of the poet made of marble from the Krkonoše mountains is mounted on a rough granite base.

The unveiling ceremony took place on 15 June 1924 on the spot where F. L. Čelakovský (1799-1852) probably wrote his "Forget-me-nots" and "Hundred-petaled Rose". The monument was commissioned by the local Club of Czechoslovak Tourists.

František Ladislav Čelakovský in Bězděkovska Street

The bronze sculpture of the poet F. L. Čelakovský (1799-1852) was created by sculptor Břetislav Benda (1897–1983). The sculpture was unveiled to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the town on 1 October 1967 in Bezděkovska Street (formerly Dimitrovova Street). The grounds of the small park were restored in 2000.

George of Poděbrady in Krále J. z Poděbrad Street

The statue was originally part of the Hus monument that was completed on 19 September 1926. It was removed from the monument during WWII. It was placed in the castle courtyard after 5 May 1945, and today it can be found in front of the elementary school in Krále Jiřího z Poděbrad Street.

Bagpiper Sculpture

The Bagpiper Sculpture, a symbol of the town, was unveiled on Velké náměstí on 15 November 2011 during the "Traces from the past - bridges to the future" campaign.

The bronze life-size piece weighing 120 kg was designed by the painter Jiří Kubelka and cast in the artistic foundry of Stará Huť u Dobříše.
