Chapel of the Virgin Mary

The chapel is located to the west of Podsrp. The structure stands hidden above a water spring that used to be known as miraculous. The neighbouring lands were called "at the good water", attesting to the healing effects of the local water. It is a simple niched chapel covered by a pantiled roof and marked crown cornice with a triangle gable from the 18th century. The road from Strakonice to Podsrp was near the chapel and used by many processions.
The cadastral map of 1838 calls this place "Pod cestau k Paně Marigi" ("Under the road to the Virgin Mary"). The chapel was consecrated in the name of Our Lady of Sorrows like the church in Podsrp; her picture used to be kept inside the deep segment alcove covered by a plank door. Today a larger image of the Virgin Mary of Lourdes can be found here.
