Zdeněk Podskalský
Television and film director Graduated from the Realschule of Strakonice. In 1945–1949, he would study sociology, psychology and theatrical sciences at Charles University. He was also simultaneously a student of FAMU in 1947–1950. In January 1951, he moved to the film school in Moscow. He caught the attention of both the audience and critics with his comedy film When the Woman Butts In, starring Jana Hlaváčová. His most successful film is probably Men about Town. His other films include My Dear Aunties and Yours Truly, Ball Lightning or The Hit. He loved to return to the place of his childhood, Malenice. In 1967, he became an honorary citizen of Strakonice.
