Josef Jelen
Poet, writer, theatre critic After his consecration, he was active in the John of Nepomuk Church in Pilsen. In 1949, he was arrested and imprisoned until 1952. In 1963, he abandoned the occupation of priest and went on to activity in cultural management establishments under the Ministry of Culture, later as an editor and dramaturgist. He had written poems, poem collections, novels, theatre plays, radio dramas and rhymes for folding picture books. He had used the pseudonyms of Josef Otava and Jaroslav Jánský.
