Academic painter, graphic artist, sculptor and illustrator. His paintings depict the town and its wide surroundings. He also contributed to the education of local young talents for years. After the war, he would teach at the secondary school in Strakonice and the Secondary Pedagogical School in Prachatice.

Illustrated collections of poems, contributed to interior decorations for public and private buildings, authored oil and pastel paintings. At the 600th anniversary of the town status for Strakonice, he published the graphic sheets "Šest Set Let Města Strakonice v Prácheňské Krajině". He was a member of the visual artist collective Mánes. Later on he was also the member of the Czech Visual Artist Association, a south Bohemian regional organization. In 2014, he was posthumously awarded honorary citizenship of the town of Strakonice.
