Felix Peřka
Major-general He dedicated his life to promoting and advocating human rights. The first-born son of the gendarmerie officer Felix Peřka. After the tragic death of his father, he would join the illegal Boy Scout organization Zpravodajská Brigáda. At the end of the war, he participated on the liberation of his country and was decorated several times for his actions in the second resistance. After the war, he graduated from the Military Academy in Hranice na Moravě. In mid-1949, he was arrested for treason. He was released from prison at 35 years of age. In the early 1990s, he was fully rehabilitated and promoted to the rank of artillery colonel. Following the revelations regarding his resistance activities, he was promoted to the rank of major-general on 8 May 1995. On 28 October of that year, he was decorated by the president with the highest state accolade – the Order of the White Lion, 3rd class.
