Podskalí

The areas surrounding the rocky bed of the Otava Rver, with meadows on both sides, became a recreational resort for the town's inhabitants long ago. The Czech National Revival poet F. L. Čelakovský, who was born here, used to come here for inspiration, as did other citizens and visitors to Strakonice, looking for romantic views from the slopes above the river.
The Podskalí nature trail was established on both banks of the Otava River in 1992 and renewed in 2005. It is 3 km long and reminds holidaymakers of wooden rafts and local fauna and flora.
