Karel Bečvář
Academic sculptor and glassmaking artist A graduate of the Secondary Art School of Bechyně as well as the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, the Jozef Soukup studio – glass, jewellery and sculptures. A former visual designer for the Moser glassworks in Karlovy Vary, he has lived and worked in Sweden since 1991, in addition to being a member of the National Association of Swedish Handicraft Societies.

Among other pieces that are parts of numerous private collections, the notable artifacts include the carved crystal block The Last Supper of the Lord made for Pope John Paul II (1990) and the crystal cross (1997) made on the occasion of the pope's visit in the Czech Republic, a custom set of carved crystal blocks made for the singer Elton John as a part of his glass collection in Atlanta, USA, as well as the Egyptian Noblewomen – glass, bronze – purchased by the actress Whoopi Goldberg, USA.
