Lyrical and satirical poet, creator of distinctive poetry for both adults and children He lived in Strakonice in 1950–1969. Graduated from the Construction Faculty of the Czech Technical University, as well as the Faculty of Journalism of Charles University. After three years of practicing engineering, he would engage himself with literature. He was an editor of the Čs. Spisovatel publishing house and the magazine Vlasta, becoming freelance since 1994. He has published over 50 poetry books and translations, epigraphs, aphorisms, fables, short essays and short stories. He has also authored a successful syllabary and children's encyclopedia.
