Calvary
The hill named Calvary is located south-west of the castle. An ancient Gothic Feast of the Cross Chapel used to stand on the top.A cemetery surrounded the chapel, where according to local legend Svanda the Bagpiper is supposed to rest. The chapel was abandoned in 1781 during the reign of Joseph II and was demolished some years later. Parts of its interior have found refuge in nearby chapels and churches.
This memorial place with a remarkable group of linden trees is currently incorporated in a canine training ground. The cemetery was abandoned together with the chapel. The character of the entire place was influenced by the Pilsen railway construction in 1869. The pillared chapel of the Stations of the Cross was built here in the 18th century with paintings by local artist Antonín Zellerin. The Stations have been gradually abandoned.
